"Bach with a Twist" Quartet featuring well-known jazz musicians, (Mark Thompson, clarinet; Ch. Cozens, piano; Bob Mills, bass and Lance Elbeck, violin). Their programme follows the through line from Bach to Brubeck and back. Spiced with humour and virtuoso playing, the evening may well prove that Bach would have been a jazz maestro had he been alive today.

Saturday, November 7, 2009 - Madawaska  Quartet

Formed in 2001, the Madawaska String Quartet's repertoire is highly diverse, with an emphasis placed on programming that explores connections between music of different styles and periods.

The MSQ has performed in many concert series such as RCM Great Artist Series, CBC's "Music Around Us", Kitchener-Waterloo Chamber Music Society series, Port Perry Concert series, Leith Summer Concerts, Uxbridge Concert Association, the contemporary music series at La Chapelle du Bon Pasteur in Montreal, Primavera Concerts, Toronto Music Garden, Music Gallery "Fresh Ears" series and X-avant Festival, ROM Salon Sundays, University of Toronto Scarborough Music of All Latitudes series, and Waterford Town Hall Concerts. 

Toronto-born Leslie Kinton, pianist, was a scholarship student of The Royal Conservatory of Music. He is one of Canada's best-known and most sought-after chamber musicians. Mr. Kinton is a founding member of ARC (Artists of the Royal Conservatory), the resident chamber ensemble of The Glenn Gould School. He is on faculty at both The Royal Conservatory of Music and the Faculty of Music for the University of Toronto and University of Western Ontario.
