APPLE BLOSSOM REPORT
Al from the Honey House has his bees poised and ready to move into the orchards early next week in anticipation of the Apple Trees coming into blossom. The forecasted chilly wet weather and possible frost over the weekend is slowing things down a bit. Stay tuned…Al will let us know when to get out and explore the region in all its Apple Blossom Glory!
Why apple farmers love bees…
Apple trees depend upon bees to pollinate their crop of fruit. The more often a bee visits an orchard the larger the crop production as well as producing a larger and more uniform apple. Local growers spend a great deal of time ensuring they plant wild flowers and clover, which means their farms have plenty of bee friendly habitats.
